Cleethorpes
Cleethorpes can
offer a wide range of attractions from the safe indoor play area
for young children at Fantasy World to the white-knuckle rides
at Pleasure Island - there is something for all ages. New for
2002 is Play Towers the biggest indoor children's amusement
complex in Europe.
For those
interested in wildlife Cleethorpes has the The Jungle with
tropical birds lizards, snakes and a family of meerkats who are
just waiting to meet you - Shivers where the creepy crawlies will send shivers
down your spine. The Humber Estuary Discovery Centre introduces
you to the wildlife of the estuary - you can watch the wildlife
from the observatory at the top of the centre.
There's a
variety of transport experiences from the open top buses that
run regularly along the seafront to the Cleethorpes Light
Railway - the east coast's last remaining light railway. A Tonka
train runs all day along the promenade between the Pier and the
Leisure Centre or you could take a beach trip in an amphibious
vehicle. For the more adventurous Jet Ski's and yachts are
available.
For sports
enthusiasts the Cleethorpes Leisure centre has a swimming pool
with a water chute and waves, squash, badminton and a fitness
suite. Ice skating is available at Grimsby Leisure Centre. Golf
enthusiasts are well catered for in Cleethorpes and the
surrounding areas. Or spend an afternoon at the 16 lane bowling
alley. Visit the home of Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.
Grimsby is a
short bus ride away and offers the award winning Fishing
Heritage Centre where you can also visit the 'Ross Tiger' once
the pride of the fishing fleet, the Time Trap in the dungeons of
the Town Hall and a tradional smokery on the fish docks.
